We are happy that our friends from Code Red Entertainment are supporting the Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice with this online event. Special thanks to Terry Lamb for compiling all the videos that will be shown as part of this event.
Purpose of the event?
Promotion of Enchanted Mid-Autumn Walk. Performers that would usually have performed live at this event to provide a lockdown video.
Clips from various performers will be stitched together in to a video for the event, including Carla (aka Cherry Twirls) from Circus Wunderbar with some amazing Hula Hoop Videos.
A bit of background regarding the event and charity?
After having to postpone our annual Midsummer Walk we’re pleased to announce a new date of Saturday 17th October where we’ll return with our new Enchanted Mid-Autumn Walk!
What is going to happen?
Featuring magicians, fire breathers, acrobats and more this is by far the most magical walk in Birmingham. Our 10k walk starts in leafy Bournville, leading you on a scenic trip around some of South Birmingham’s most beautiful parks. At 7km there’s an opportunity to pause at the Hospice where you can enjoy a warming cup of hot chocolate before heading onwards to the finish line. Once there, not only will you receive a medal to reward your efforts you’ll also get to soak up the post event atmosphere with street food, drinks and more entertainment, all whilst supporting a wonderful local cause!
The Hospice provides light, smiles, laughter, empathy and understanding. Our team is committed to improving the quality of life for people living with life-limiting illnesses, as well as supporting their families and loved ones during one of the most challenging periods they will face. Every day, the Hospice cares for and supports over 500 people, providing care in people’s homes, in the community and at the Hospice itself. It costs £9 million per year to run the Hospice’s services – 64 per cent of which must be raised from voluntary income. That is why events like The Enchanted Mid-Autumn Walk are so important as they help us to raise much needed funds to continue our services.
